As a black male I have used shavers designed not for my hair type and suffered from ingrown bumps and irritation until I found this particular shaver approx 6+ years and it has consistently performed without a glitch and satisfying results.
When one gets old I simply replace it and get another.
I can only say thanks to Wahl for developing such a product for a smaller market niche and consistently keeps it in production being compassionate to the needs of the black male.

If you want this for shaving, it doesn't shave close enough. It does do decent trimming beards and mustashes though. But as a little set of hair clippers, it does a good job.

I've used a Wahl shaver before and it works best for me. If I shave too close I tend to get razor bumps easily but this shaver cuts close enough that I don't and still manage to look like I shaved for the entire day. I haven't found anything that does as good a job.

I found that this product shaves extremely close for a trimmer. I'd say if you want to use it instead of shaving, go for it. The last set of trimmers I had did not shave nearly as close. I suppose it's not good if you need to be clean shaven for work, but for a student or for casual use it's really great.
