 Coumadin User Finds HelpFeb 19, 2009

I have been on the drug Coumadin to keep blood at a certain consistency since 1990. I have had two heart valves replaced with artificial valves which requires ingesting Coumadin on a daily basis. All my life I have been bothered with nosebleeds. Coumadin makes them much more difficult. The physician's assistant at the Coumadin Clinic in our city recommended Nosebled QR and gave me few samples. Even though I must keep my nose pinched a little longer than the average person, it has been a real boon to my handling nosebleeds. I order several aplications at atime and even carry some in my car so that I can deal with a nosebleed when away from home in case one happens. I am very pleased with this product and highly recommend it.

The product itself is good. In fact, it is better than good. However, the packaging is a nightmare. Keep in mind that this product is intended to be used WHILE you have a nosebleed. By the time I broke open the plastic container, peeled back the blister, loaded the applicator and actually applied the stuff, my bathroom looked like a bloody crime scene. (Seriously. I had to throw away my bathmat because of all the blood).

This is a great product and stops a nosebleed fast. I broke my nose and it was bleeding both inside and out. One of these stopped the bleeding in 15 seconds and it never bled again from the inside. I highly recommend it.

Recommend but not for routine useMar 11, 2011

Works very well and quickly, but be careful not to sniff it into upper sinuses. It has a drying affect and can actually cause more nosebleeds higher up in the sinuses. My husband does not use as a first resort to stop a nosebleed, but for a bleed that will not stop after 5 or so minutes. Cheaper than going to the ER or walk in clinic for cauterization. Would recommend follow up with doctor for recurring nosebleeds. Doctor did not recommend routine use of this product because of risk of drying out sinuses.

I have a history of nosebleeds from childhood. As an adult, I had one that landed me in the ER. Recently, I had an extended (several hours) nosebleed for which I ended up in Urgent Care at my clinic. Early on, though, I tried a box of NasalCease, which I had on hand. It was absolutely useless. Because an Urgent Care doctor had used QR for lacerations on a wound, I ordered QR for nosebleeds. 10 days after the recent extended nosebleed, I had another. I tried a dose of QR for nosebleeds and stopped the bleeding in just a few minutes. This was far superior to any of the sprays and packing they had used at the clinic. I ordered more to have on hand. I recommend it highly.
