This is the best razor I have ever used. I have been using razors for 63 years.

Without a doubt, Schick Titanium blades are the best I've ever usedSep 05, 2007
By Jonathan Appleseed I don't have a heavy beard - it's about average. I can get away without shaving for three days and still have the "cool" scruffy look. On the fourth day, it becomes the "dirty" scruffy look, and so I shave.
Because I have sensitive skin, that's what I've been doing most of my life: shaving every third day, sometimes every fourth day. Anything less has always caused razor burn and bumps, regardless of the shaving cream or the razor. (I've been using Aveeno for Sensitive Skin for several years now - that switch was a definite plus. Anytime I use anything different, the shaving suffers.)
But with Schick's new Titanium razors, I can shave *every* day and not cause razor burn or bumps. When my parents see me clean shaven every time they visit me, or I visit them, they (especially my Mom) will be extremely happy. Never mind that I'm 40...you know how parents are.
One reviewer has said that the four blades cause more nicks. I haven't found that to be the case. I've yet to nick myself once, although having said that, I'll probably nick myself when I shave today. Knock on wood.
Finally, the blades last for a very long time; much longer than any blade I've ever used. Although they're very expensive now, I think they're well worth the extra expenditure. I can shave more often, and the blades last longer than the blades I used when I shaved every third day.
This is definitely a win-win.

Cost more per blade, less per shaveJul 18, 2009

Face it, razor companies make their money when you buy new blades. There's more profit if they get dull sooner.
About 5 years ago, when the quattro first came out, I did an experiment. I had been a Gillette guy for years and was using a Mach3. I bought the Quattro and used them on alternate days. The Quattro lasted 40% longer.
In the review that I wrote here, I suggested that Schick should market a cheaper blade that's just as good as the Gillette blade, and then advertise the more expensive Quattro, priced comparably to the Mach3, as lasting 40% longer.
Well, they seem to have done something like that without any invidious comparisons. This Quattro Titanium lasts much longer than the regular Quattro. (I haven't done the Schick/Gillette test again, however, so I can't be sure they didn't take my advice.)
Maybe not as profitable, but if their aim is to gain market share, it worked for me.
As for the blade clogging, the answer is to rinse it more frequently. I had the identical problem with the Gillette system if I didn't rinse the blade after every 2-3 strokes. It also varies with the type of shaving cream, how wet your face is, etc. I just swish it in the washbasin of water. If I let the gel get too dry and stiff, sometimes I have to hold the blade under running water first, then swish.

Worst blade system I've ever usedApr 02, 2008
By JavaBarista Given that another reviewer thought that this was the best blade he'd ever used, I have to assume that it's designed for a very specific kind of beard. I do know that it's not designed for mine (which I consider average). While it did a decent job on my cheeks I had to go over my neck time and time again to get it smooth, and had the same problem with my chin. Part of the problem may have to do with the design of the blade, which prevents you from rinsing out the stubble by running water through the blade. It therefore clogs very quickly.
The only plus side, and the reason I gave it two stars instead of one, is that the design does seem to make it harder to nick yourself than others. For that reason I can only recommend the Quattro to people with very sensitive skin or those new to shaving.
