Sayman Salve is fantastic if the originalSep 11, 2008

"Desert Art 4 U"
My mother used this on me for EVERYTHING and swore by it. It would work a sliver out of your finger overnight. The stuff was originally made for farmers to apply to the teets of cows. Recently I bought 4 jars and it is not the same stuff and missing something. I think it is the camphor and possibly another active ingredient but it definately does not work like the original and smells different too. I think this is an imitation from China. Good try, China but I wish I could find the authentic original "Sayman" salve cuz mine ran out and my kids loved it too. The real stuff would mend cuts, burns, hangnails, and work foreign objects from your skin with a blob of salve and a band-aid overnight. A great product if you can get the real stuff which I don't think they make anymore. Too bad. My mom must have sold hundreds of mom's that stuff through the years and I would promote it too if it was still available.

Awesome!Jun 12, 2008
By A. Thornton Sayman Salve is wonderful on mesquito bites on children. Skinned knees. It creates an invisible bandaide to guard against infection. My parents used it on me when I was little and now I am using it on my kids. It helps in speeding the healing process and reduces scaring. A little goes a long way, and doesn't cost much. Other products on the market are very costly, for comfort. This is the medicine you want. Throw out those expensive ointments for your children's hurts and bites. I believe in it and more so my children believe in it and have grown to trust it for relief. You should try it. An oldie but goodie!

Changed the formulaFeb 22, 2010

If you used this salve when you were a young you will be disappointed as I was. Someone is using the brand name to make a lot of money. The original Sayman Salve had these ingredients on the jar. Contains Camphor, Zinc Oxide, Boric Acid, Lanolin and Petrolatum. This new formula does not contain Camphor or the Boric Acid which made it have that soothing warm feeling on irritated skin. Why they changed the formula is anybody's guess. That's what made the product! I would not waste my money on this product and especially what they charge for it.
Swear by Sayman SalveMar 24, 2012
By Sheila I grew up with sayman salve.... my mom put in on any and every ow-ie big or small. I've used it for the last 40 years or so. Since then it's harder and harder to find. But I can find online. I actually bought this batch to restock my mom's supply. She can no-longer find it locally.
I use it on chapped lips, sore/red noses(during allergy season), cuts, burns, scrapes.
Try it, you'll love it.

By SJC Saymans salve is an excellent product. An all-purpose remedy, it's been in use by my family for four generations, beginning with my great grandmother. I was happy to learn that the product is available at Amazon.
