Worked just like my other anti-perspirantsApr 09, 2008
By Pr0metheus I had a coupon for $1 off this item, so I thought I'd try it out since I have a profuse underarm perspiration problem.
A bit of history: any antiperspirant or deodorant I use, doesn't work too well for me. The problem is that I sweat a lot no matter which ones I've tried, and some of them stop odour, and some don't. I stick with the ones that stop the odour for me, and Speed Stick and Gillette have worked well for me at stopping odour. I've always masked the wetness by not raising my arms when I don't have to, so the underarm wetness is visible to others and thus embarrassing for me.
I tried this, applying a little at first since it has a 20% aluminum content, which is significantly more than any other antiperspirant I've ever used. However, that was no good as I still sweated profusely, but there thankfully was no body odour, but no nice scent either. Day one verdict: fail.
Second day, I put on how much I normally use, which is thoroughly covering my underarms, and using about ten or more passes--lots of product used. I went to work, and I hadn't even started and I was already sweating. I was very, very disappointed.
Subsequent uses of this product have yielded the same result: lots of sweat, no odour, and no fresh scent. The scent is only prominent in the shower when I am washing it off, and not when I'm sweating. I find this very, very odd, and never had experience this before.
I am definitely not purchasing this product again, and will try out the Gillette Clincal Strength Antiperspirant, which you apparently have to apply before going to bed, and has an even higher aluminum content percentage than Right Guard.
Hopefully, this works as advertised for some people out there, but definitely not for me. If it were a normal antiperspirant, it would receive 3 or 4 stars, since it does it's job at masking smell like some other products do for me, however, at the additional cost, it's no good for me.
