Piece of junk.May 17, 2008
By Benjamin Bernard DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. HORRIBLE QUALITY! I made the mistake of drunkedly purchasing this product while at the BX. I should have know better; I have been skating for 7 years now and I have built many skating obstacles, ranging from mini-ramps to benches and, of course, several girndrails (metal shop was far and away the most productive class I have ever taken). This was by far the worst skateboarding-related purchase I have ever made. First of all, the image on Amazon (as well as the image on the package) is misleading. The rail is way too small to skate. And if you think having your ten year old son, or daughter(alot more girls are getting on board nowadays-pun intended) learn how to grind on this thing, think again. It is actually much harder to learn on than a proper sized and weighted rail that can easily be built for less than $40. Also, you can't overlook the satisfaction of doing something yourself. Proper dimensions are 8 feet long by 12 inches tall (8 to 10 inches will work for the youngsters). Two-by-two inch square steel tubing works great for the rail and legs, but try to use thicker, flat metal for the baseplate. A thin flimsy base will bend and slide around. The heavier the rail is, the better it will be for skating. Portablility is important but a portable, flimsy piece of crap (like the Razor Punk Rail) serves no purpose whatsoever. It is tempting to attempt to make the rail adjustable. I strongly recomend against this unless you have made a couple of rails before or are really good with your hands. A 10 or 12 inch rail will be functionable for a lifetime of skating, no matter the skater ability level. Another thing to consider is the tipping factor. Make sure the legs aren't too far away from the ends of the rail, otherwise the rail will tip everytime you slide off of the end of it. Well, if you have amade it this far into my rant....blah blah blah, tired of typing.... this rant was made possible by your tax dollars.... Crappy RailFeb 28, 2007

This was a very disappointing product. Amazon delivered it in great time, but Razor is very misleading about the quality of this product. It is too flimsy to remain upright while grinding it. It is frustrating to be told by the Razor customer service AFTER the purchase, that it should be bolted down to the ground or bolted to a piece of plywood. There goes the portability of it! VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

ok definetely could be betterJan 14, 2009
By V. Revzin Pretty good for the price but not what i was hoping for. i bought this rail so that i could learn to boardslide and do other types of grinds. the one problem with this rail that i was disappointed in was that the real is only 4 ft 2 in long and i was expecting a six foot rail. the one good thing in the rail being short is that you don't need to go fast to get through the whole rail so if you fall it will not hurt as much as it would if you were going fast. Overall pretty good rail for the price and for beginners if you are more advanced get something else.

Was cheaper than any place else we lookedApr 29, 2010

My son got a lot of enjoyment out of this item for very little money. It was less expensive here than any place else we looked and it wasn't cheaply made. It lasted quite a while and was passed along to a relative who also got enjoyment out of it.
