Cleaner Teeth = Happier Dentist VisitsJul 19, 2007
By D. R. Jeanclerc

The Oral B Vitality Dual Clean toothbrush performs like many of the $100+ power brushes but at a fraction of the cost. I started using mine about a month before my most recent dentist visit and noticed a definite improvement in my brushing results, both above and below the gumline.
Brushing with the Dual Clean takes a little getting used to. First, it's a different technique than regular brushes - you simply glide the brush along your teeth and gums rather than scrubbing back and forth. The fast pulsation of the head takes care of that for you. Once you get use to this new technique, it makes for a very comfortable brushing experience; however, I did experience some minor bleeding for the first few days of use. Second, the power of the motor means that the vibration is intense until you get accustomed to it. I experienced this as a severe tickling sensation in my nose and palate for the first week or so of use. It also includes a simple timer that momentarily revs the motor to notify you when you've brushed for the prescribed two minutes.
This package includes a handle, a charging base and a cleaning head, so it's ready to use out of the box. It runs on a rechargeable battery, so there's no need to keep feeding it AAAs. On the downside, this makes the handle rather bulky, although its rubberized grip makes it easy to manage.
Over the long run, the Dual Clean has proven to be well-constructed, having survived being packed away for several trips (battery life is good enough that you won't even need to bring the charger unless you plan on being away at least a week). Maintenance is simple - both the handle and head are easy to keep clean by simply rinsing after each use. Unfortunately, the initial value that this unit offers is diminished by the relatively high cost for replacement heads.
Overall, the Vitality Dual Clean does an excellent job of cleaning your entire mouth - my dentist said as much. It's also dependable and very affordable, making it a great buy. The sensation of a power toothbrush may not suit everyone's tastes, but at this price, it's easy to see for yourself.
PROS
* Exceptionally clean teeth and gums
* Value priced package with everything you need to start
CONS
* Some may find the bulky head and handle uncomfortable
* Replacement heads are expensive

A Great Toothbrush!May 21, 2007
By Linda Lee I think this toothbrush is not only a bargain, but the best electric toothbrush I have ever used. Long ago, I spent a fortune on a "sonic" type electric toothbrush which was not nearly as effective in cleaning teeth as this one. With the round brush going around, and the square brush going back and forth, you can get into crevices and dental work that the plain round brushes simply can't reach. And it takes up very little real estate on the bathroom counter. I'm really impressed!

I've been using this toothbrush for a long time now and am very happy with it.
It has it's own recharger, which is nice and the brush heads are replaceable and inexpensive.
My dentist recommended this one to me and since all my check-ups have been good, I give the credit to the Oral B Vitality Dual Clean Power Brush. I do floss once a day and use this brush three times a day.I time how long I'm brushing as I don't want to under or overbrush.
I highly recommend this to everyone.

Great for disabledNov 10, 2007

I got tired of feeling plaque buildup with my tongue. I have MS and am wheelchair dependant. Standing to brush 2 minutes is torture. The MS has affected my right and dominant hand. I just can't direct a simple, regular toothbrush effectively.
After my last visit to the dental hygenist, I determined to maintain that clean, smooth feeling! I can't spend $100 on a fancy system, so after reading endless reviews of many brushes, I selected the OralB Vitality-Dual-Head as the best affordable solution.
I made a great decisionand plan to order replacement heads from Amazon.
The brush arrived in 4 days by free ground delivery. After wrestling to open the package made to send it safely to the moon, I planned to charge it overnight to get started. Much to my surprise, I didn't have to do that. It brushed perfectly, right out of the box. The handle is substantial, but easy to hold and control and not too big. The brush rotation changes to send me a signal that I've been brushing 2 minutes. I love it in all it's design and preformance aspects! I am also sight impaired. If I had one wish for the brush, it would be to have dual colors on the pad with the on/off switch. Cream on cream requires an extra look to turn it off. However, I can solve that easily with a marker.
I find myself brushing more often because of the great, thoroughly clean feeling in my whole mouth. I have an upper denture and love being able to brush my gums well. Also the task of brushing well is now easy. I love beating the system of life and Amazon sold this for $2.00 less than all other low priced retailers in my area. I called all of them.
My last three purchases from Amazon have been 5 star winners, and this includes a 32" HDTv I never thought I'd buy online.
Don't bother shopping any longer for a good brush. Click "add to cart" and do your mouth and psyche a big favor.

About the charging time...Oct 10, 2007
By firechill I think this is a great tooth brush for the price, but I mainly wanted to comment on the charging time. A lot of other reviews are saying that the charge time is too long or doesn't hold a charge well etc. I took this into account originally... but after I received the tooth brush, I realized the charge time or amount of charge doesn't make any bit of difference! If you simply place the tooth brush on the charger after you are done brushing, you will never have to worry about the amount of charge.
Overall, I am satisfied with the charger. The only flaw I can think of is the amount of noise it makes (sort of high pitched). It definitely feels like the tooth brush at the dentist. Although probably doesn't rotate/vibrate as fast. Recommended.
