It's our favorite sunblockJul 02, 2009
By A. Dent

We've been using Neutrogena sunblocks in the summer for several years now and, given that most of our summers are spent in the sun, by the pool or at the beach, I think I have some authority to state that I am happy with this product.
The SPF 70 spray features:
- UVA/UVB protection - Helioplex for keeping the product effective longer - a very fine dry mist - discreet, sexy odor - seems to stay effective for several hours - I don't need to re-apply it after swimming
I disagree with the maker's claim that it 'resists running into eyes'. My personal experience is that you should not apply this anywhere near your eyes unless you have easy access to an abundant water supply to wash it off. Use some dry stick for the areas near your eyes or for your entire face if possible.
Besides that, this is definitely our favorite sunblock. We buy a dozen or so spray cans of various SPF levels (we use SPF 70 in Florida and mostly SPF 45 when in our less tropical Pennsylvania) and a few sticks and out family of 5 is good for the season. We haven't experienced any sunburns lately.
Since this is THE sunblock we use and we don't use anything else, I am compelled to award this product the 5 stars it clearly deserves. _______________________________________
True story. I know it's true because it happened to me, a few days ago.
One lazy Saturday afternoon, having completed my 100 or so laps, I am in the back of the house, reading a book and sipping some drink, Scotch and soda. A bunch of kids are splashing in the pool, dogs over-excited. I notice T. circling around, trying to look busy, a hesitant, uncomfortable look on her face. She's my wife's girlfriend, a neighbor, and she's married too, 3 little girls, her 6 yr. old our 6 yr. old's best friends. While all this is going on, I keep reading, enjoying the day, sipping my drink.
To make it short, she seems to find the needed energy to address me directly.
A., she says, what are you wearing? Svimvear I says (a joke, she's from Russia). No, no, no, she says, what perfume are you wearing? Or is it your aftershave? What are you talking about? No perfume, says I. I just came out of the pool. But, A., you smell soooo good, says she. My husband never smells like this. Why can't he smell like you do? Ahhhh... I finally realize, it's GOT to be the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock Spf 70 5 Oz. I'm wearing.
True story.

Redhead In Need of Spray On SunblockJun 01, 2009

And this did wonderfully...Although I think sunscreen/block in general is extremely expensive considering how much one must put on (esp someone like me who is photosensitive and burns easily), this is a spectacular product. I use a different lotion on my face (designed for face as I have acne prone skin), BUT this I use on my arms, neck, shoulders, and legs, everyday before I leave the house. I love the style of bottle too because unlike Aveeno's yellow bottle, the spray nozzle itself is designed for comfortable constant application. The Aveeno one has a rounded tip so once your fingers get a little slick or wet you have a hard time holding it town. This one is good for lefties, righties, kids, adults, and the elderly alike who all might have issues with both sun and application comfort. No streaking or staining on skin or clothing so far.

The best!Feb 18, 2009
By Keri Van Zeyst I love this product. It is so fast and easy to use and works flawlessly. I use it daily and take it everywhere with me.
Spotty coverage, gritty feeling, VERY stinky.Apr 20, 2012
By J. Blair I really wanted to like this sunblock since it's one of the few that don't cause my skin to break out, but it just doesn't work. I spray my skin liberally so that every bit is quite wet and let it air dry, so I am using plenty. But, the coverage is still spotty since I burn in large streaks even in spots it was heavily applied (and reapplied later, without sweating or water).
The texture is dry-ish, but gritty feeling, especially if it touches hair. Basically any hair that comes in contact with your sprayed skin is going to snarl like a rat's nest (and my hair doesn't usually tangle at all). I find that it's still greasy feeling if you use enough, and is even a bit greasy when you don't, with the added texture of fine grit. I'm not impressed at all.
The smell is really strong compared to the liquid versions of the dry-touch products. It stings my eyes for hours just from the smell of the chemicals. Plus, it's hard not to inhale some of it when you apply it unless it's a perfectly windless still day. Applying it indoors leaves a film on the floor/tables/chairs, so that's a no-go. Woe be unto you if you happen to get it in your eyes, since you have to look carefully to make sure the spray left product on your skin, rather than just cold propellant. It also takes about 4 washes with my shower soap to get all the greasiness off -- I've tried Dove, Caress, and some handmade soaps, none of them powerful enough to degrease it. 4 lather/rinses later, my skin still stinks of it.
So in short, feels disgusting, reeks of chemicals, and doesn't protect reliably.
My mineral makeup blocks sun better than this stuff does, and it's only a loose powder rated to spf 20.
Great Dry Feel Sun ProtectionAug 24, 2011

Great dry feel sun protection. Use it on a regular basis as it is not slimy or sticky after application. It screens sun well too. I am very satisfied.
