I bought this bed for my five cats. I thought that the medium versus the small would be best for my cats who vary between 8 and 12 pounds. It's bigger than I thought! But that is ok because the cats seem to like it anyway. I have two cats that love to lie together and this bed is perfect for them. The bed is made of foam with a removable, washable cover. The fact that the cover is washable is a big plus for me. I've found other cat beds that I like, but I cannot wash them. I've rated this product four stars because my pets like it and I like the product. I've also uploaded some pictures to help give a better perspective on the bed's size and features. I'll update the review after I wash the cover.
1/29/09: Washing the cover was easy (cold wash, low heat dry). It seemed to fit the bed better after washing. The color did not run. I used some liquid fabric softner and it made the fleece feel fantastic.

All three of our cats love to get in this to keep warm together.
I gave it 4 stars only because it is a little hard to get the cover back on after washing.
Do not leave the foam out where cats can get it while washing the cover, because the cats love to tear it apart.

I'll never understand why cats enjoy sleeping in spaces that appear too small for them, but they do. Or at least mine do. This one provides warmth and fuzziness without shedding (some beds have a material that sheds after a lot of use). My 15 yr old cat loves it even though his nose touches the sides.

I bought this bed as a Christmas present. The cats gave it a look, smelled it, and haven't been near it since. Because they ordinarily love new beds, I'm guessing there's "something amiss" in this product.
