5Cheat Mother NatureMay 29, 2007
By - Kasia S.
I rarely bother with drug store kinds of self tanners because quite frankly they tend to be streaky and orange in color but my first experience with this Gelee was through a free sample and I am hooked. My favorite self tanner in the more expensive but fool proof category is from Fake Bake but when I run out or don't feel like shelling out $30 bucks for it I now reach for the Sublime Bronze Gelee and can only rave about the results. I am naturally very pale and don't even bother with the lighter tone this also comes in, the Medium-Deep is a one shot to a great looking tan that still looks incredibly natural if not better.

I only apply this type of stuff at night, after a shower and a good scrub with some exfoliating product I dry myself off completely and put some lotion on my feet, elbows and knees. I can even use this on my face over or under my usual creams. I then sit back and make sure I am completely dry and start from the bottom up, applying the tanner to the feet very gingerly, I don't want dark feet and even worse, white feet with no tan while my legs are dark - something I see on women every day, a total give away!

From the feet I do each leg at a time, massaging this smooth gel in circular motion , trying to cover the skin as evenly as I can, going very lightly over the elbows & knees since they soak up all the color and stop at my neck, sometimes I put it on my face too for that sun kissed look all over. Then I sit back still undressed and wait about 20 minutes or so until the skin has absorbed any moisture from the gel. This is a slightly moisturizing product that smells really nice although very faintly and feels wonderful on the skin, like a cooling gel and is hardly sticky at all once it starts to dry. I then dress in pajamas and go to sleep, so far my sheets and clothing hasn't turned colors and in the morning I can wake up to a wonderful glow that has done no harm to my flesh. So far I barely got any streaks so exfoliating and really good attention while applying is all I need and this tan lasts a very long time! After purchasing the full size on Thursday and applying it I am still sporting a tropical looking tan and it's Monday night. With other tanners I had to reply then all the time and felt lazy half the time and ended up not wanting to do them at all.

This is a wonderful product, the color it delivers is rich and golden with a nice brown base, no orange color at all and it's so easy and pleasant to use. I hope that L'Oreal keeps making this for as long as they can because the price is a bargain for what you get and the small tube lasts a very long time. I do not tan at all in fear of what the sun can do and this is the only way I can still look like I do.

5Loreal Medium-Deep sunless tanning gelNov 04, 2006
By Lori Franz
This works very well! It is by far the best sunless tanning product I have tried. I am fair-skinned, but the medium-deep gel creates a very realistic looking tan several hours after application. I then reapply the gel 3 days later.

I have been using this gelee for a few years, and find it gives me a natural looking tan. Just wash your hands thoroughly after use.

4Best self tanner I've used in a while!Sep 07, 2010
By Brooke Tingley
I stopped using self tanners a couple of years ago because I was tired of all the trouble you have to go through, and then usually end up with streaks or looking incredibly orange. A friend of mine recommended this after I commented on her natural looking tan. I use it 1 to 2 times a week and it really does work pretty well. The "gelee" form goes on easily and absorbs within minutes. It feels slightly greasy when I apply it to my face, but it did eventually absorb and so far no breakouts. The color is great; I wish it could be slightly more brownish, though much better than most self tanners, which can leave you looking very orange. My boyfriend said I look "bronzed". I haven't had any streaking or patches whatsoever, however I do blend it in very well, applying shortly after showering (exfoliating while in the shower), and I wash my hands thoroughly after use. I then gently pat the back of my hands against my thighs and rub my hands together a bit. I don't apply lotion to typical problem spots (knees, elbows, feet, etc.) prior to applying, however I do take a dry washcloth and rub these areas afterwards to remove some of the product. This seems to work fine. It does have a light odor, which I'm not too crazy about, that lingers for several hours after applying, but I've yet to find a self tanner that doesn't. I will continue to use this product since it's easy to use and the price is right. I would recommend giving it a shot. Good luck :)

5Love This Product!Nov 30, 2009
By J. M. Adkins
This is my replacement product for the dicontinued Lancome self tanning gel for face and I have to say I'm VERY satisfied! It goes on as smooth, only takes a little bit, and offers a bit of a "glow" even during the drab winter months! Thank you, L'Oreal for a great product and at a much more reasonable price than Lancome's smaller version!
