4Toilet Safety RailOct 12, 2007
By B. Davis "Bama Bound"
The toilet safety rails that my mother had was attached to an oversized plastic toilet seat. It was an eyesore and an inconvenience to guests who had to use her bathroom. This was the perfect solution since my mother only needed something to help her to stand. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has trouble getting up from the toilet due to weak arms and/or legs.

4VersaFrame Toilet Safety RailsNov 12, 2009
By F. D. Gillett "Comparison Shopper"
As a person with severe arthritis in hips and knees it has been challenging to rise from a seated position. The home I purchased recently does not have a counter next to the toilet in the master bath and the wall on the opposite side of the room was too far away for grab bars. Enter the VersaFrame. I'm now able to stand after using the toilet without the need to call for assistance.

Installation was very easy and would require only that the toilet seat be removed and re-installed (in most cases only a screwdriver would be needed). As I was also installing a new toilet seat, it took only an extra minute to install the VersaFrame. This went onto a ADA height toilet with elongated bowl and fit perfectly. With the built-in adjustments, it could also be installed on a standard-height toilet with round bowl or any combination of the two. In addition to the height adjustment, there are also adjustments for width. However, since the back of the frame is bolted to the top of the toilet bowl, the height adjustments apply only to height necessary for installation, not for the height of the person using it. The arms may be a bit too high for a shorter person, but at 6'3" they were perfect for me.

My only concern is that the arms are a bit wobbly side to side, but this may be minimized by using the narrower width option. Additionally, since most of the force will be downward, a side to side wobble would have minimal impact.

5works well for a good priceMay 04, 2009

I put this rail on my 82 year old mother's toilet because there were no walls close enough for a grab bar. It was easy to install and works fine. Local stores wanted twice as much for the same product. Delivery was very quick.

5Safety RailsApr 14, 2010
By Lo-Yi Chan "csharp"
I got this for a person with two broken ankles and needed support for a six week recovery. I found the rails exactly as advertised. I did have trouble removing and replacing the toilet seat bolts, but this was a problem with the bolts, not with the Safety Rails. Once I solved the bolt problem, the rails were easy to install and quite steady. One note of caution: the rails are not meant to provide side-to-side support. They will give way if pushed to either side. They give support only when pressed down to the floor, thus helping a person get up off the seat.

5Parkinson's DiseaseJul 11, 2011

This simple frame has meant a lot to a man who is unsteady due to Parkinson's Disease. I would recommend it to any person who has balance problems or who is older and just unsteady. Well worth the money!
