FreeStyle LancetsDec 06, 2009
By J. Williams These work well in the lancet device that came with my FreeStyle Lite kit. The fact that the little plastic piece that originally covers the metal lancet tip is also made to be turned and snapped over the used metal tip is a great design feature. It has a flat side that sits still on a level surface allowing the lancet tip to be pushed into the cavity made to accept the business end of the lancet until they snap together. Great design!FreeStyle sterile lancets - 100 eaFreeStyle Sterile Lancets - 100 ea

Lancets ReviewAug 17, 2006
By Vickie J. Fosdick I prefer to use the Freestyle Lancets rather than the generic over-the-counter brand of lancets. Freestyle Lancets are more sturdy to use and are easier to cap when I have finished using them than the generic brand.

More of a commodity and priced that way, thank HeavenDec 28, 2010

Those of us who frequently must test our blood-sugar know that the price of blood-glucose testing strips is outrageous because the blood meters use different systems and different codes and are generally incompatible with each other, leading to a seller's market and a "captive audience" for the strips.
Happily, there is a lot more flexibility in the lancet family. The ones here work not only with FreeStyle and FreeStyle Lite injectors but with many other injectors as well. Thus, some measure of price competition applies. That's a major part of the reason why these lancets cost a dime apiece while the testing strips run up to a dollar apiece.
As long as your lancets fit your injector, you can shop around. These blue lancets from the FreeStyle people (Abbott) are sturdy and work well and are a little more consistent and precise in the way the lancet is oriented (i.e., 90 degrees) than a drugstore-brand I used later on. Shop around, get a good price, and then use what you want. I don't think you'll be disapppointed with FreeStyle Sterile Lancets. .

Great glucose meterDec 16, 2010
By K.P. I got this for a family member because of its ease of use, comfort factor and it only requires a small drop of blood. There was very little learning curve on this one. It comes with 2 different tips, one for forearm testing and one for fingertip. Her doctor fell in love with it because it keeps a detailed log he can access (even download it to a computer if he wants), telling the date, time and glucose reading. The needles are so fine, they don't hurt at all. It's a good product and perfect for beginners.

Quick and easy to useApr 07, 2007

The reason for buying the glucose monitor and lancets was to keep track of our dog's diabetes. Recently, I've been using it for my own needs as I begin the testing process to find out if I, too have diabetes. The FreeStyle system is great because I don't need to use my finger tips for testing - the lancets and monitor can be used on less sensitive areas.
