Excellent meterApr 28, 2009

This is a very good meter that is small and easy to use. Although it requires a very small amount of blood (about the size of a pin head), it takes a few bits of practice to get by with this little.
Be aware that this package comes with: Meter Lancet device 10 Lancets case
It does NOT contain the control solution or any test strips.

More Good Than BadSep 08, 2008
By K. Lee My personal experience with diabetes is gestational. I've had it with each pregnancy. I also have many family members who are diabetic and I try to educate myself about this in order to help my family and because my chances of developing Type 2 diabetes in the future is a reality. But enough about me. I received the Freestyle Freedom Lite for free through Abbott. Pros: -It uses the smallest blood sample. -You can test from multiple sites. -The lancing device doesn't hurt at all. -There are 2 different lancets you can use with the device. -Easy set up. -Almost instant results. -NO CODING NECESSARY!!! Cons: -Test strips are small & can be expensive, but that's any glucose meter. -The case is small & flimsy. -The unit itself is smooth so it feels like it could jump out of your hand if you aren't careful.
I recommend this system. It's easy to use and all of the accessories are easy to find. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. Good luck!

Love this productNov 26, 2010
By ManangK Why I love this - no calibration needed; virtually any spot on your body can be used; only a small amount of blood is needed; if you did not prick hard enough to get blood, you can re-cock the lancet (no need to get a new one)and try again; very easy to use as prompted on the screen.

I love Freestyle LiteJun 30, 2011
By Sylvia Domingue I have used other glucose monitors and by far Freestyle Lite is the best on the market. It is very easy to use and acccurate in its measurements. My 9yr old nephew is diabetic and I bought one for my brother so he can monitor his blood sugar regularly and my very little blood is needed to get a reading. My nephew can do his own blood sugar readings without help from anyone.
Thahk you so much
Sincerely,
Sylvia Domingue
