Excellent idea for a wide range of workoutsMar 08, 2009
By airfirehorse When I bought this product, what I wanted was both a good medicine ball and a kettlebell. This ball really is both. It took less than 5 minutes to attach the handle to make it into a kettlebell; they provide the tool and parts to do this. I did have to pull one side of the hendle a little to make it fit perfectly over the hole, but it means a nice snug fit. There is no looseness whatsoever.
The feel of the ball is VERY sturdy. It is completely rubberized and seems hard to damage. The handle is a STIFF handle (I think hard plastic) so the ball can be held aloft and the handle won't give at all. It really does duplicate the feel of a kettlebell except that the ball is not flat on the bottom.
Funny enough, this ball can bounce. Not like a basketball or soccer ball bounces, but it really does have a "ball" feel to it. I've used it as a medicine ball for crunches as well as tossing in the air for arm exercises and it feels balanced; no wobbling or off-centered feel.
The 3" DVD that comes with this kit actually has demos for 6 of the Cathe products. It made me want to buy the 10lb vest, the glove weights, and the 3-in-1 weighted fitness bar. Cathe does exercises in the demos and they are short and to the point. This is not an aerobic video, but she explains what each exercise is for and how to do them.
I only wish this ball/bell came in heavier weights, say up to 25lbs for a wider range of users.

8lb Medicine BallMar 12, 2010
By Lisa Seaman This ball has good rubber texture for gripping. The handle is terribly difficult to screw in. I use it without the handle and love it. Wouldnot buy it to have a ball with a handle, though.

I'd expect a better dvd from catheNov 06, 2009

"I gotta workout!"
I'm sorry to report that i'm pretty disappointed in this purchase. I think Cathe is amazing in the other dvd's I have of hers, but this one is so lacking. It's a mini - so I think it only works in the computer -I'm not sure.
I like the kettleball/quality - but it's not explained anywhere (nor when i called, no one told me) that I need to stretch the handle a bit to get it to line up with pre-drilled holes to attach it. A bit of a hassle to return for nothing. I even asked "what's the trick with this" - they said must be defective.
Overall - I like it - the kettleball - I hope Cathe makes a better dvd to go along with it. I'm looking on her website for it now, but for the money i paid for this thing, it should have a great dvd to go with it in her normal high caliber style.
