Great product, strips are easy to use... technique is importantJun 12, 2010
By S. A. Boorstein This is a great product. I have had consistent results. Reviews that I see for this product which talk about readings being inaccurate may be due to poor technique in many cases. For example, your finger has to be clean and grease free. You also should not be squeezing the blood sample out of your finger as this changes the composition of the blood sample your are squeezing out and can provide inaccurate results (eg. you are also squeezing out oils on the surface of your finger, etc.) You also need enough blood sample to analyze (albiet it is still very small... just a drop). The technique that I use, and I think is easiest, is applying the blood sample directly to the test strip rather than using the enclosed capillary tube, which I find isn't always easy to use.

Good Tests 4 starsApr 15, 2010

We've had good luck. I know I've been told by my doctor that the cardio check may be a couple points different but not enough to be a problem. I had my total cholesterol checked by the doctor and it was 235, a bit high went on a strict diet and 1 month later, used cardio check and my reading was 222. I believe it probably was quite close. My husband has a greater problem and we've checked his right after the doctor and it's quite close actually.

Reliable results, everything you need is included, short shelf lifeAug 28, 2010
By hoshgilly I bought 2 of these because I thought there would be a learning curve and lots of errors. The good news first: 1) Very easy, so I got it right first time 2) Everything you need is included (i.e., lancets) 3) Reliable results (the whole reason for having a monitor) I would say plus or minus 5 points, maybe even more accurate than that.
The bad news is that I bought these in August and they expire in December. So I'll be testing my cholesterol a lot over the next 4 months. :)

AccurateFeb 06, 2011
By Tat I have used these strips regularly and they give a very accurate result. I tested my blood at home with CardioCheck and this company's strips just before I went to get blood work done to check my lipid panel. When I got the results, the total cholesterol was off by one point from the home test.

old/close to experation dateSep 22, 2010
By tom i ordered 2 boxes...enough for 6 months of testing. however they sent me 2 boxes...total 6 strips...that expire in 90 days! one box order would have been ok but now after 3 tests at 1 per month, the other box will be expired and the unit will not read the test. so i wasted my money by buying two boxes.
fresh strips should have at least 180 days before experation......not happy with old stock.
