5Dr Scholl's callus reducerDec 06, 2011

Item exactly as described. I've tried all the available products on the market and this callus reducer is the best out there.

2Inexpensive but poor qualityJul 18, 2011

No question this product is inexpensive. However, it is of poor quality as well. The coarseness of grit on coarse grinding even hardly takes off anything unless your callus has been swelled by keeping your feet in water for 1/2 hour to one hour. Fine grit does absolutely nothing.

5Simple, inexpensive and it worksMay 28, 2011

There are many different callus remover products on the market, some of them are pretty expensive. However, this cheap little gizmo works as well if not better than alternatives.

The file has two sides: one side with larger filing edges, the other with finer smaller filing edges. When you file the dead skin it creates a bit of a mess, so I use a towel under the foot being treated to catch the filings. I start with the larger filing side, and it work pretty quickly (couple of minutes of shaving). Then I use the finer filing size to finish off and smooth. When I work on the callus that extends above the rest of the skin I can use it holding it flat. When I get to the point when I am working on a small are I use it on angle to treat only a small area. My callus is at the bottom of my foot on the flat area (not the heels), and I had no problem working on the callus without hurting the healthy skin around it.

I used D. Scholl's file in combination with Freezon which helps to remove corns and calluses. The acid in Freezon deadens the top of the skin and starts the peeling process. After 6 days of treatment with Freezon, I soaked my foot every night and about a week after the end of the treatment the callus began to peel off. This is when I removed it with the Dr. Scholl's Callus Reducer. Once the first layer was peeled off, I still had a smaller callus remaining and had to repeat the treatment.

I am very pleased with the product. It works, it is inexpensive, and the handle makes it comfortable to use. Some of those egg-shaped treatments were more difficult to hold to get the place I needed to treat.

I have tried many callous removers for my thumbs and heels.
Dr. Scholls is by far the Best - use it dry and it lasts longer.
