The Best Art Apron!Sep 27, 2009
By MAIOSH We have tried various types of art aprons. Most of them claim that you can wash them because they are durable but they usually end up falling apart. Other art aprons are plastic and uncomfortable and usually slide around on the child's clothes. This "Beginnings Tidy Top" is soft, it feels more like a fabric but it keeps the paints and glue off their clothes. It has long sleeves with elastic around the wrists and a velcro closure in the back. It doesn't slide around on their clothes and my three year old doesn't cry when I put it on her. I agree with the first review that it could be worn for a child up to the age of five. We have washed our tidy top multiple times and it comes out looking new every time. Even glitter comes off of this apron unlike other aprons where it just continues to stick to the plastic and sheds off on the child every time they wear it. If your child loves doing crafts, this is the one to buy!

NOT Waterproof OR Paint ProofJun 13, 2010
By Susan M. Cunningham
"Nathan's Mommy"
I would disagree with the other reviewers that claim the Crayola Tidy Top is waterproof and keeps paint off clothes. The fabric is comfy for wearing, but it is thin and very permeable, and wet paint (and anything else liquid) goes right through to clothes. I found this out the hard way with RED paint. Thankfully, it was washable, but I am very disappointed. I had also been using ours as a bib for my 3-year-old, because it is long-sleeved and covers his clothes better than other bibs. However, his white polo now has lasagna stains all over it because the sauce (which wasn't even that liquidy) went right through the fabric of the "tidy top" and onto his clothing. I think if you were using the Crayola Tidy Top for glue or other messy crafts, it would be great. But don't expect it to keep wet paint and other liquids off your kids' clothes.

Great Art Apron!Jun 03, 2009
By C. Studer-Houp This art apron is great! It has long sleeves with elastic on the bottom of the sleeves. This is great because I don't have to worry about paint getting on long sleeves. It is also very easy to clean paint off of it. It states that it's for 18 months to 3 year olds but I think that you could use up to age 5.

The BEST Art Apron for young kidsMar 13, 2010
By Kay J I bought this along with a set of fingerpaints for a two year old's birthday a few weeks ago, and we have already gotten tons of use out of this apron. The apron is excellently designed - it fits snug at the collar and snaps tight at the wrist, but not in a way that would be uncomfortable.
I can think of no better testament to this thing than my last experience with it; white sweater, this apron over it, finger painting, and not a spot on him after I whipped it off. And this is not a neat little guy, this is a guy who decided to paint his face and hands for the last half an hour of painting. He was painting his chin and it STILL did not get on the shirt underneath because of how it was pulled up at the collar.
You can't imagine how much of a breeze cleanup was when all I had to do was wipe his face and hands, and then whip this thing off.
We will use it for baking as well!

not for older kidsSep 19, 2010
By EA very good for younger kids. It was to short for my daughter. About the length of a shirt. I was looking for one that covers the legs also.
