Works, but dried out on meJun 26, 2007
By J. Lewis The stuff works, and I heard that the smell was really bad, but not much worse than other products I've used. It does just what is says, but for some reason, after several uses, the liquid gelled up on me and I couldn't apply it anymore. I made sure the top was tightly closed, so I don't know what happened. The stuff works, but I think the gel compound w is a better bet.

It could be better...Jul 01, 2011
By golla The product is good BUT the liquid gells up in a way that you can't use it anymore. It felt bad, like throwing money in the garbage can.

Does what its supposed to doNov 05, 2009
By K. MacDonald Good stuff. Works as advertised. Isn't that all that need be said? But for those considering freezing with one of those drug store freezing methods, forget about it. They don't work as advertised. For the few freezing works on, it still takes up to two weeks for the wart to fall off. Its not an instant fix. I tried freezing on a small wart twice (each its own seperate attempt). Never worked. I went back to Compound W and low and behold the little bugger is finally gone. I hope I saved you some time and money. Good luck.

By zachary titus I was able to apply this product a total of 2 times before it gelled up to the point it didn't work. I can honestly say it is useless and a waste of money (at $8.49 it is not cheap either). It also smells horribly and stinks up an entire room.
I contacted the manufacturer and recieved the following response:
"Compound W Liquid has a high concentration of alcohol. As the alcohol evaporates from the container, the solution may become gel-like, or even crystallize. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be added to the solution that will bring it back to a liquid state. In the future, you may want to wipe any excess fluid off the top of the bottle before putting the cap back on. Sometimes the dried liquid on the bottle rim creates a gap allowing the alcohol to evaporate.
Since you made your purchase through the internet amazon.com, unfortunately you will need to contact Amazon to resolve your issue for refund."
So it seems they are well aware of the issue but not willing to deal with it. And believe me that I made sure the lid was tightly after application to prevent the smell from escaping.

By George Sand EDIT: So yeah, I got the gel. WAY better. It is much easier to apply, it does not smell as bad, and it hasn't dried up yet.
/edit
As others have said, this stuff coagulates into a lumpy, useless mess. I just pulled out the entire contents of the bottle in one long, gross wad of rubbery goo.
I think the problem is the bottle itself. Whenever I closed it up and set it aside, I could still smell the chemicals, even after a couple of days of not opening the bottle. So it seems as though the bottle seals inadequately. Keeping the bottle in a zip-lock bag or some sort of an air-tight container might work, but I'm not buying another one just to find out.
Avoid this. I've heard the gel does not dry out, so you might want to have a look at that.
