For me it is an absolute miracle - for realOct 20, 2008
By Alan S. Mathias I've been running for years, but tenderness(?) on the bottom of my feet limits me to around 13 miles before incredible pain - which stops after I stop running for about a hour. I've have surgery, cortisone, etc - nothing addressed this. It took around 3 weeks for this product to work (applying it a couple times a day) BUT IT WASN'T EASY. Every time I ran my feet were on fire! Incredible pain during each run, but all of the sudden this went away and voila' the pain is gone. I ran a 16 mile mountain trail race last week with zero pain! The 2 previous years I had to stop during the same race. This won't work for everyone - as described, I believe it is interfering with neural messages. My understanding is that it may level off and stop. Give it a break and start again.

Don't be afraid, it works!May 09, 2008
By Jenna J I love capzasin products. Yes, they do burn that's why they work. The great thing about the no mess applicator is you don't get it on your hands or fingers. That way if you forget and rub your eyes you won't burn them. People should not be concerned about the burning, it's not harmful. If it were all those folks who eat hot peppers and enjoy spicy food would have ulcers. They don't. Just be smart when you handle hot peppers or capzasin products. They are the same stuff.

my doctor recommended this product... i applied it and nothing... i was warned there would be much burning... i felt nothing... since it didn't burn i forgot about and 12 hrs later went to bed, with my electric blanket... then came the burn.. now it does state not to use a heatpad with the product... but to burn when under a eletric blanket 12 hrs after application.. hmmmm... i am glad it works for some but for me nothing... if you have a high tolerance for pain relief meds.. i don't recommend this product...
Discovered it significantly reduces intense itchingJul 13, 2011

I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of a patch of skin on my scalp that has itched intensely for years. I finally went into my medicine cabinet looking for a cream that might numb it. I pulled the Capzasin out because it was liquid and had the applicator so it would be easy to apply. It burned a lot for several seconds but after that, the itching was gone. It lasts about 4 hours and then needs to be reapplied but this was a miracle. I have went to dermatologists, tried prescriptions, OTC, homeopathic, you name it. Nothing has helped. This didn't cure my issue but it's the only thing that alleviates my suffering.
Be careful, it does linger on your hands and the slightest bit of it near your eyes is horrible. But for me, the risk is worth it. I can adapt in order to reduce the itching. I wish more people were aware of this benefit. BTW, the cream works fine too. I had to try that when I ran out of the applicator and couldn't find it nearby. The concentration is slightly less--and therefore, so is the burning--but I think it's just a little less effective than the applicator. Also, the generic cream at Meijer works just as well as the Capzasin cream.

Capzasin often causes intense lasting painFeb 08, 2008
By L.J. Stars This product is can cause intense skin pain that can take hours to go away. It is surprising that it is sold without warnings about this. I don't mean it causes transient burning, I mean it causes lasting pain that will not stop even if you wash it off. The first time it worked ok, but on a different area it started to burn, skin turned red, and the pain wouldn't go away with repeated washing. Other web sites said that Aloe vera can help but we didn't have any (calamine lotion helped a little).
