short and sweet-as birth control this product works, but afterwards you'll have quite a mess to deal with as once the insert turns liquid it's the consistancy of water and goes everywhere. So, while I recommend this for birth control I would use another, tidier form of birth control if you need to go somewhere after intercourse. I was also pleased that the product was not burning or irritating to those with sensitive skin.

Let me first start off by saying that I gave these things a try with my girlfriend two separate occasions. What everyone echoes about it taking a lot longer than ten minutes to dissolve and it leaking everywhere is absolutely accurate. But what only some people have suggested as a burning sensation needs to be further described. Honestly, I felt a very very intense hot burning feeling. On both occasions I was forced to stop after only a minute of intercourse because the enjoyment was completely stripped away. In addition, the insert had been in there at least 15 minutes and was only about 3/4 the way dissolved on both occasions. The worst part of it all however is when I went to pee afterwards. Holy mother of god it felt like I was peeing out shards of broken glass. I had an STI in college and it was quite equivalent to this sensation. I understand many people have had success with this product and of course everyone is different. However, I do wonder if other men have experienced this issue but did not bring it to the womans attention because they did not feel comfortable. Meaning perhaps their experiences were casual rather than with a significant other leaving the guy too uncomfortable to speak up. Anyway, I am sure there are better products out there and frankly it is not worth the risk. Or at least get a smaller pack so you don't waste your money if you don't like them.

I do have to say it gets a little messy. But the warming sensation is not to bad. Just make sure you let the product dissolve completely before you go to far. It helps to have a towel close by and under you just in case. It turns warm and foamy. But I would recommend this product!
It beats being on the depo shot still.... I had to get the depo shot for over 4 years, FYI it makes you gain weight and messes up your hormones. So using this product every once in a while is nothing compared to the depo.

My partner and I both experienced excruciating allergic reactions to this product. It felt ok initially, but as soon as orgasm hit, extreme burning sensation. I wish there were something other than nonoxynol-9 for spermicide. I'm somewhat familiar with this allergic reaction, unfortunately, but it was new for partner and was in so much pain it was hours before he could urinate..after calling the doctor and following doctor's advice. The packaging seems to acknowledge that a reaction can happen, but says only to "discontinue use". It says nothing about how to treat the symptoms! (He used Benadryl, ibuprofen for anti-inflammatory, and soaked in the bath a little while..was still painful but at least he was able to pee then, and was feeling better the next day or two).
Aside from that, it's not pleasant dealing with the mess as it melts and leaks out all over. I plan on taking them up on their money-back guarantee, as there's no way we're touching this stuff again.

I feel like this is a very unknown birth control, I heard about from a friend and had to try it. I love this stuff. I've used it off and on for years. Between pregnancies and BC pills. I'm temping and using this when I'm fertile so I don't get pregnant. BC pills just dont flow well with me so this is a great option for like minded people.
Bad things about this: it is freakin HOT. I mean sometimes, from my perspective as a woman, it is way too hot. Like so hot I can't even feel anything. It's messy and gets all over everything in the process. Kind of an odd smell to me and strange texture. Husband complains of it being way way too hot sometimes too. Also, you better have a towel before you get up because it comes out immediately and i normally have to wear a pantyliner for 24 hours afterward.
Good things about it: you won't need lube once it melts thats for sure, and it hasnt given me a UTI or YI yet. I am incredibly prone to UTI's and YI's, and can't even use scented soaps my skin is so sensitive but thsi doesn't bother me. Beats BC mood swings also =)
