My criteria when purchasing: height, attractive, safe, good price, good seller (good rating on Amazon). Got all five. I will say I have 2 kittens so I have used the "box" like portion that attaches on top as a second tower, have not attached it to the very top.
Saw some really expensive ones at pet stores, that were far too flimsy, and too pricey (over $200.00). I do wish I had not had to pay for shipping, but well worth it in the end.
Made of press board - but really good quality press board.
Worried a bit about the mice attached as toys as unsafe - needless worry. They are not dangerous if torn apart.
Recommendation if you purchase: follow the directions. Build from the top platform down. I am mechanically inclined (or so I like to think) so I had this together in about an hour.
